Candle Care

1. Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch and remove and debris left in the wax. Any debris left in the candle will add more fuel to the candle than it is designed to handle. Wicks that are left long or crooked can cause uneven burning, dripping, flaring, and soot. Trimming wicks will help prolong the life of your candle. Remember to trim your wick when it gets longer than a 1/4 inch.

2. The first burn is important! Candles should burn one hour for every 1 inch in diameter of the actual size of the candle. For example, a candle that is 3 inches across should burn for 3 hours.  If a candle is not burned long enough to allow the wax to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a "memory ring". Once a candle has a "memory ring" it will continue to tunnel for the life of the candle.

3. Burning a candle for too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to mushroom. The wick will then become unstable and produce a large flame. It is recommended that candles do not burn for longer than four hours and cool for at least two hours before relighting.

4. When burning a candle, avoid proximity to fans, air conditioners, open windows, or crowded areas with people. Moving air can disturb the flame, resulting in black marks on the container.

5. Store your candles in a cool, dark, and dry place with the lids kept on.

*Never leave a candle burning unattended.

*Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire.

*Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
